Christmas In July

The Holidays may seem like a long way off, but the Horticulture Program is getting ready. In order to have Poinsettias for sale in early December we need to get started early. 500 cuttings that left Guatemala on Friday were picked up today.

The cuttings were placed in 6o6 trays with Fafard 3B media.

The cuttings will spend a few days under mist until callus forms and roots begin to appear. In about 3 weeks to 1 month students will transplant them into the final container size that will be available for sale after Thanksgiving. When you purchase holiday poinsettias this year please keep the Horticulture Technology Program and Horticulture Club in mind. We will keep you updated.
