Horticulture Service Project

Several members of the Landscape Management class in our horticulture program finished up their semester by working on a service project at a local church. Frances Cove Methodist Church of Waynesville needed some landscaping done and our students eagerly signed on to lend a helping hand. Although the terrain was not the most ideal, they managed to plant over a hundred cotoneaster shrubs without falling. Actually, the only negative consequence of their experience was a rather severe case of poison ivy contracted by several of the volunteers (including the group leader, George Thomas).
