Soils Labs Visit High Country

Forestry and Fish and Wildlife students recently returned from an overnight extended lab to the "High Country" of North Carolina where they were able to meet NRCS and other soil and hydrology professionals in Watauga and Ashe counties. Students toured the Beech Creek Bog--one of the highest true bogs in the state. The class also visited several stream restoration projects and learned the importance of proper soil and water management and were exposed to "classwork in action" at several field sites and ongoing conservation projects.
