Community Connections in Horticulture...

Horticulture students have committed to help with another community project. Community Connections Clyde Leadership Team obtained a donation of numerous dahlia tubers. HCC horticulture students cleaned the tubers in preparation for their winter storage and will also be dividing the clumps in the spring prior to planting. Although they do not look very appealing at this stage, the tubers will generate spectacular blooms from summer into autumn and will be used to beautify numerous areas of the town of Clyde. This endeavor represents another example of how service projects can benefit both students (through hand-on training) and the surrounding community. (Post by John Sherman)
