Forestry Career Day 2010

On February the 24th, 2010, the Natural Resources Department at Haywood Community College put together a Career Day for the Forestry and Fish and Wildlife students.  Representatives from The National Park Service, The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, The United States Forest Service, North Carolina State Parks, were all present and  each agency had employees from fire, recreation, law enforcement, timber, and environmental education.  Students spent 2-3 hours with all of the professionals asking questions about how to apply, how to find jobs and what could they do outside of education to better their chances for employment.  Some students had resumes ready and made great contacts about summer internships and future employment in these fields of natural resources.  Many thanks to all the professionals that gave up time to speak to our students.  Approximately 80% of all of these professional presenters are alumni from Haywood Community College.
