Utilizing the Resources Around Us...

Dave Dudek, HCC FWL Instructor Emeritus, returned to the classroom to teach his infamous chainsaw lab, as part of the Wildlife Management Techniques course. Students learned about safety, chainsaw ‘anatomy’, and basic operation(s). This was an all day training session. Dave is very thorough with this subject matter, and the students are now ready to head to the field to begin practicing what they have learned. Chris Graves will finish instruction by teaching felling, limbing, and bucking techniques in the classroom and field, so that students will become safe and efficient sawyers. These are the kind of skill sets employers look for in good wildlife technicians. Dave Dudek is scheduled to return later in the semester to teach students about animal immobilization. Thank you Dave for your continued contributions! (post by Chris Graves)
