Forest Protection "Bug Hunt"!

As part of their forest protection course, HCC sophomore forestry students recently scoared Haywood County in search of native and invasive forest insects. During this "hunt" students collected speciemens that will be used as part of their insect collection. The hunt finished at the highest elevation on the Blue Ridge Parkway. There students studied the effects of the Balsam Woolly Adelgid and its impacts on high elevation spruce-fir forests.
