LID Student Candace Stimson Co-op with the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy

This fall semester 2nd year LID student Candace Stimson completed a 160 hour Co-op Work Experience with the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC). Her range of duties included working with Conservancy staff and volunteers to eradicate aggressive exotics on conservation easements and updating the Conservancy's vast database by scanning recorded written agreements. Her experience provided extensive networking opportunities and the chance to learn in depth about the Conservancy's mission to protect Western North Carolina's exceptional natural resources for future generations, as well as breathtaking hikes through some of the region's most stunning landscapes.
