Dahlia Garden Improvement

Landscape Design I students developed three designs for areas adjacent to the dahlia garden plantings as part of their course requirements in the fall. Their efforts focused on adding additional plant materials that would complement the dahlias when in full bloom, as well as serving as an ornamental backdrop during winter and spring when the dahlias are absent. Designs will be turned over to the arboretum staff for evaluation. Plans are to use funds from the Robert Patrick Endowment, a gift meant to complement HCC’s landscape, to implement the plans. Pictured is a planting plan developed by Horticulture Technology student Mary Batten.
